This past week, I had the joy of being in Paris for work, and little did I know, I’d end up creating a spring-inspired cheese board in Paris that brought it home, both literally and emotionally.

Even though my trip was mostly professional, I couldn’t help but fall under the spell of springtime in the city.

Paris in bloom is something else entirely. Trees were bursting with flowers, everything seemed to be blooming at once. It was impossible not to stop and just feel it.

One of the first things I noticed was how the colors around me changed. People started wearing brighter clothes, soft pastels and bold shades mixing beautifully as they walked along the Seine or gathered at cafés.
There was a lightness in the air—both literally and emotionally. People smiled more, lingered longer on terraces, and shared laughter more freely. The longer days helped too. With the sun setting later, it felt like we had extra hours just to live. And live we did!

After work, we often found ourselves at small, cozy “afterworks” as they call them. A glass of wine, some delicious bites, and good conversation. What more could you ask for? It felt like everyone was collectively exhaling the last bits of winter and welcoming this new season together.

And Oh, the food. I’m always surprised by how Paris manages to reinvent food experiences. This time, I fell completely in love with the variety of cheeses and the delicate finesse of French desserts. Inspired by everything I tasted and saw, I decided to bring a little bit of Paris spring back home with me.

So this week, I hosted a small gathering at my place and made my own spring-inspired cheese board. I wanted it to capture the essence of the season—the freshness, the colors, the joy. It turned out to be a big hit! Everyone who came was amazed at how beautiful (and tasty) it was. So I thought… why not share it here?
Here’s how I built my Spring Cheese Board, perfect for a small gathering of 4–6 people:

🌸 Spring-inpired Cheese Board Recipe
Cheeses:
- Brie (soft and creamy, perfect with fruit)
- Comté (a little nutty, aged just right)
- Blue cheese (for a bold contrast)
- Goat cheese with herbs (light and tangy)
Fruits (seasonal spring picks):
- Strawberries
- Cherries
- Apricots
- Red grapes
Nuts:
- Walnuts
- Almonds (lightly toasted)
Jam:
- Fig jam
- Apricot preserves
- Honey with lavender (a beautiful floral note)
Bread & Crackers:
- Baguette slices (because… Paris!)
- Multigrain crackers
- Breadsticks with sesame
Extras:
- Edible flowers (like pansies or violets – they’re beautiful and safe to eat)
- Fresh herbs for garnish (like rosemary or thyme)
Tips for Assembling:
- Start by placing the cheeses around the board first.
- Add small bowls of jam and honey in between.
- Fill the gaps with fruit, nuts, and bread.
- Finish with a few sprigs of herbs and edible flowers for that beautiful spring vibe.
It was such a simple yet meaningful way to bring a piece of Paris back with me. There’s something really special about sharing food that you’ve created, especially when it’s inspired by a moment or a place that moved you.

So if you’re feeling that spring spark too or you just want to brighten up your next get-together.
I hope you try this board. Let it remind you of blooming trees, long golden evenings, and the joy of slowing down with good friends.
